Albino Blood?

Postby Rain's Aria » Sun Sep 27, 2015 4:48 pm

Hello, recently it is not uncommon to see someone selling pups or wolves that have albinos in their lines. Some even claim that albino blooded wolves have a higher chance of producing albino pups. Whenever I see Albino Blood ads such as these, I used to scoff and continue to scroll down the chat.

But what if it is true? What if the albino birth defect can actually travel down the lines? So far I have seen it happen twice.

Example One:
pack king's Sugar
http://www.wolfplaygame.com/wolf.php?id=543350

Sugar's great grandparents, Alice and Kiba Tamashi, had produced an albino in the litter that contains battle wolf, Sugar's grandfather.

Here's the albino:

Example Two:
Nigernox's Jack Frost
http://www.wolfplaygame.com/wolf.php?id=574167

It is easier to see in Jack Frost's lines. Neither of his parents are albino but his grandmother, White Out, is. It seems as the albino gene skipped a generation.

What do you guys think? Coincidence or is albino lines actually real? Feel free to write any thoughts or other examples of Albino Blood actually being successful.

The chance of getting a birth defect is random. I think you just got lucky.

Oh, just when I was starting to think that albino blood just might be a thing. >.<

Does that mean that breeding two albinos together just gives you a random chance of having an albino pup also?

The chances are higher, but yes, still random.
